FT TAKES HOW TO SPEND IT ONLINE

The Financial Times is launching an online version of its upmarket monthly magazine, How To Spend It.

The launch of Howtospendit.com will coincide with the magazine's 15th Anniversary on Saturday (3 October). At launch, the online version of the magazine will be free, but Ben Hughes, global commercial director and deputy chief executive of the FT, said it could switch to paid-for in the future. In addition to replicating the content in the printed magazine, the new online edition will offer video content, plus made-for-web content.

The print edition has won many awards for content and layout. The production team will be hard pressed to match this achievement online. The site relies heavily on Adobe Flash technology to deliver a rich reader experience.
