NEW PRESIDENT FOR CPI RECOVERED PAPER SECTOR

Steve Smith, Director of SCA Recycling UK Ltd with responsibility for Finance and Human Resources, was elected President of the Recovered Paper Sector of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) at the recent AGM held in Birmingham

Steve takes over from Chris White, Commercial Manager at Aylesford Newsprint, after his term in office ended at the AGM. Neil Clarke, Managing Director of Recycling UK Ltd, was elected Vice President for Steve’s term of office.

Steve has been with SCA Recycling since July 1993 and has extensive experience of the industry. This includes board-level management of the SCA Recycling network of UK recovered paper operations, domestic and export markets for recovered paper and recent infrastructure investment in MRF technology.

He will lead a strong, balanced CPI Recovered Paper Sector Council representing a Membership comprising UK recovered paper reprocessing mills, integrated recovered paper merchants, independent recovered paper merchants and a number of Associated Members.
