SONY ANNOUNCES WIRELESS E-READER

Sony US has unveiled a wireless version of its e-book reader, which will sell for $399 and be available in time for Christmas

The wireless reader, which uses 3G technology similar to that used by the Amazon Kindle, has a seven inch screen and can hold up to 1,000 titles. There are no plans for an international release of the product.

Sony also unveiled a new library service where users can access their local library's collection of e-books. There are no late fees because the e-books automatically expire after the lending period ends.
